Privacy & DNA Data Policy

Overview

Your privacy and trust are central to our mission. Decode Love (“we,” “us,” “our”) uses your information only to generate personalized compatibility insights. We do not sell, rent, or share your DNA data with advertisers or third parties for unrelated purposes.

How Your DNA Is Handled

All DNA kits are processed by certified independent laboratories (e.g., CLIA/CAP–accredited facilities). Decode Love never receives or stores your physical DNA sample. Once processed, the lab generates a genetic data file (containing SNP-level information only) and transmits it securely to Decode Love. Samples are destroyed by the lab within 90 days unless you explicitly authorize long-term storage.

How We Use Your Data

We use anonymized or pseudonymized genetic and survey data to calculate your personal compatibility insights, build aggregated models of relationship compatibility, and improve our science and user experience. Your identifiable data is never shared beyond this purpose.

How We Protect Your Data

All data is stored on encrypted servers meeting or exceeding HIPAA-level security standards. Only credentialed personnel under strict confidentiality agreements can access the data. We follow best practices for encryption in transit and at rest and conduct regular audits.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@decodelove.com. Upon deletion, all genetic and survey data are erased within 30 days. You may also request a copy of your processed genetic data or withdraw research consent at any time.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies only for functionality and anonymized analytics. We do not track or sell behavioral data.

Research Consent (Optional)

You may opt in to let your anonymized data contribute to ongoing research on the biology of attraction and compatibility. Participation is voluntary and not required for use of our platform.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy periodically. Any material change will be communicated via email and effective upon posting.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) and Informed Consent (“Consent”) govern your participation in Decode Love’s DNA Compatibility Program. By submitting a sample or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

Services

Decode Love provides DNA-based insights into relationship compatibility. Results are for informational and entertainment purposes only and are not medical or diagnostic. Always seek professional advice for medical or psychological concerns.

Participation Requirements

You must be 18 years or older and provide your own sample and truthful survey responses. If you reside outside the U.S., local data laws may apply.

Your Consent

By checking the consent box or submitting a sample, you acknowledge and agree that your saliva sample will be processed by a third-party certified lab, that the lab will generate a digital genetic data file transmitted securely to Decode Love, and that Decode Love may analyze anonymized DNA and survey data to provide insights and improve its models. Participation in research is optional and may be withdrawn anytime by contacting support@decodelove.com.

Intellectual Property

All algorithms, scoring systems, and reports are proprietary to Decode Love. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to view and use your compatibility report.

No Medical Use

Decode Love is not a medical or clinical testing company. The services are designed to promote self-understanding and relationship insight, not to diagnose or treat health conditions.

Data Rights & Deletion

You have the right to access or delete your genetic and survey data and withdraw consent for research participation at any time. Deletion requests will be honored within 30 days.

Limitation of Liability

Decode Love and its partners are not liable for damages arising from interpretation or use of your results. Liability is limited to the amount paid for your kit or subscription.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, unless otherwise required by applicable state or federal law.
